Peter's family started White's Bakery in Langton Matravers in 1866 and the business had continued down the years, supplying excellent quality bread throughout a wider area. Many of the older generation remember the days when Peter and his staff did door to door deliveries and they still tell him that white's bread gave their families a good start in life. There were three shops and White's bakery vans could be seen delivering their goods through Purbeck, Poole, Bournemouth and as far afield as Christchurch.

Brook Tea Rooms opened 38 years ago. Fourteen years ago, at the grand age of 73, Peter decided to scale down his business having been a Baker for over 56 years.

Today he and his family still make many of the products that you see in the tea rooms and we firmly believe in using local meat and produce wherever possible.
