Moonfleet Adventure Sail Training offers a unique opportunity to experience traditional tall ship sailing from Swanage Pier. Operating aboard Moonfleet, a beautifully restored steel-hulled gaff cutter built in 1930, these sailing experiences introduce people of all ages to the skills and enjoyment of classic sailing.

Originally built in Holland, Moonfleet spent her early working life carrying cargo across the North Sea before being converted into a sail training vessel. After extensive refits, she is now based in Swanage and used to teach hands-on sailing skills in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Sailing trips run from March to November, weather permitting, and are designed as a friendly “toe-in-the-water” introduction to tall ship sailing. No previous experience is required and no specialist clothing is needed — just dress appropriately for the conditions on the day.

Guests are encouraged to get involved if they wish, with opportunities to help hoist sails, weigh anchor and even take the helm under supervision. Alternatively, you can simply sit back, relax and enjoy the stunning views across Swanage Bay and the Dorset coastline.

In addition to regular sailing introductions, Moonfleet is also available for group bookings, educational trips, parties and corporate events, making it a versatile and memorable activity for a wide range of visitors.
