Studland Beach is one of Dorset’s most beautiful and unspoilt beaches, stretching for over four miles along the coast between Swanage and Sandbanks. Backed by sand dunes and heathland, it offers a rare mix of wide sandy shores, calm waters and spectacular views across Poole Bay.
The beach is divided into four main areas — Shell Bay, Knoll Beach, Middle Beach and South Beach — each with its own character. Knoll Beach is the most popular with families thanks to its facilities, while Shell Bay and Middle Beach offer quieter spots with plenty of space to relax.
Studland is part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site and is managed by the National Trust. The surrounding dunes and heathland are home to rare wildlife, making it a great place for nature lovers as well as beachgoers.
The shallow waters make Studland ideal for swimming, paddleboarding and kayaking, while walkers can enjoy coastal paths linking the beach to Old Harry Rocks and Swanage. Cafés, toilets and seasonal facilities are available near Knoll Beach.
Dog-friendly: Dogs are welcome on parts of Studland Beach year-round, with seasonal restrictions in place on certain sections during the summer months.
Distance from Woodyhyde Campsite: approximately 25 minutes by car or a scenic walk via Corfe Castle and the Purbeck hills.
Book your stay at Woodyhyde Campsite and enjoy easy access to one of Dorset’s finest beaches.
