The New Inn | Church Knowle | Wareham | Dorset | BH20 5NQ | 01929 480357 | www.newinn-churchknowle.co.uk
The New inn is situated 1.5 miles behind the ruins of Corfe Castle, in the picturesque village of Church Knowle in Dorset. Full of olde world charm & character, with lovely inglenook fire places and a brick alcove that used to be the original farm house kitchen oven. The village inn is situated in a valley surrounded by the beautiful rolling Purbeck hills, a walkers paradise with plenty of pub walks.
Originally part of a 16th century working farm, with records of licensees dating back to the 1881 British census, the Estop name is only the 4th name on the license in 160 years, now the second generation Estop name, with son Matthew joint licensee and head chef. As a family we have been welcoming customers since 1985.
1994 we created our lounge restaurant from the original kitchen, and sitting room of the original farmhouse. Access was added to the bar, formerly the Tudor barn, at the same time the new kitchen was built to enable us to offer a wider variety of home cooked quality food.
We offer a menu of daily fresh fish and home made produce featuring traditional British favourites with a modern twist. In January 2015, our menu was rewritten for those with pure food indulgence in mind, including family dining and great emphasis on quality and presentation. With seasonally inspired dishes and ever changing fresh fish and seasonal specials, we are proud to be featured in all good food guides since 1978.
