The World’s End is one of Dorset’s most historic pubs, with origins dating back to the 14th century. Often described as the oldest pub in Dorset, it is a traditional country inn full of character, history and warmth.

Set in the village of Almer on the main A31 between Blandford and Dorchester, The World’s End is a true destination pub, attracting visitors travelling through Dorset as well as loyal local regulars.

After a fire in 1991, the pub was sympathetically rebuilt using reclaimed materials to preserve its original charm. Inside, you’ll find open fires, cosy corners, exposed beams and plenty of nooks and crannies that give the pub its unmistakable atmosphere.

The World’s End is well known for its home-cooked food, welcoming atmosphere and relaxed country setting. Families are welcome, with a children’s menu available and an outdoor play area to keep younger visitors entertained.

Distance from Woodyhyde Campsite: approximately 35–40 minutes by car, making it a great stop if you’re exploring inland Dorset or travelling towards Blandford or Dorchester.

Book your stay at Woodyhyde Campsite and enjoy some of Dorset’s most historic pubs during your visit.
